Min Jin Lee

Min Jin Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea, in 1968. Her family immigrated to the United States in 1976 and settled in Queens, New York, when she was just eight years old. From a young age, Lee spent a lot of time at the local library, where she learned to read and write. She graduated from Yale University with a degree in History and also studied law at Georgetown University. Before dedicating herself to writing, she worked as a lawyer in New York. From 2007 to 2011, she lived in Tokyo, Japan, a period she devoted to researching and writing "Pachinko." The book received rave reviews from major literary magazines and was included among the 10 best books of 2017 by the New York Times and USA Today. Additionally, it was a finalist for the National Book Award for Fiction in 2017. Min Jin Lee's writings have been published in international media outlets such as Conde Nast Traveler, The Times, Vogue, Travel+Leisure, and New York Times Magazine. Min Jin Lee lives in New York with her family.
