Panagiotis Skondras

Panagiotis Skondras was born in Piraeus in 1963 and studied in the Department of History and Archaeology at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens. He has collaborated with various publishing houses as a lexicographer (Italian-Greek and vice versa), translator, and editor of translations primarily from Italian, as well as a proofreader of typographic proofs. He was part of the editorial team for the dictionaries "Italiano-Ellenico" and "Ellenico-Italiano" (Perugia editions); the latter was awarded the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs prize in 1998. His translation of Maurizio Maggiani's novel "The Unadorned Queen" (Kedros editions) was also awarded by the same Ministry in 2005. In 2007, he was a candidate for the EKEMEL translation award for a work from the Italian language with Massimo Carlotto's book "The Mystery of Mangiabarche" (Kedros editions). In 2008, he was awarded by EKEMEL for his translation from Italian of Curzio Malaparte's novel "Kaputt" (Metaichmio editions).
