Jane Harper
Born in Manchester, Jane Harper moved with her family to Australia when she was eight years old and lived in Victoria for six years, where she also obtained Australian citizenship. She returned to the UK during her teenage years, where she studied English Literature and History at the University of Kent, and then worked as a journalist for several years. In 2008, she returned to Australia, where she again worked in the media. She began to seriously pursue writing when one of her short stories was selected for the annual Fiction Edition of Big Issue magazine in 2014, at which point she applied to participate in the online novel-writing creative course offered by the literary agency Curtis Brown. She was accepted with the draft of the novel that would become "The Dry." Following her highly successful debut, she wrote the novel "Force of Nature," which also features the detective Aaron Falk. The book "The Dry" received numerous accolades and is already being adapted into a major motion picture, produced by Reese Witherspoon and starring Eric Bana in the lead role.
