
Giannis G. Georgakis
Giannis Georgakis is a journalist. He was born in 1955 in Lefkada. He received his early education at the two-classroom Primary School of Pinakochori and graduated from the B' Evening Gymnasium of Ampelokipoi. He studied journalism at Lomonosov University in Moscow. He worked at the newspaper Odigitis (1984-1987) covering labor reporting. Subsequently, he specialized in sports reporting and worked for the newspapers Rizospastis (1987-1999) and To Vima (1999-2013). He collaborated with the sports magazine Spor&Skor as well as the radio stations "Kanali Ena" and "Xenios." He contributed to the writing of the two-volume encyclopedia "Greek Sports - A Historical Review 1896-1996" and the book "The Top Players of the Fields." He is a member of the Journalists' Union of the Athens Daily Newspapers (ESIEA) and the Panhellenic Association of Sports Press (PSAT).
