Alex Michaelides

Alex Michaelides was born in Cyprus to a Greek Cypriot father and an English mother. He studied English Literature at the University of Cambridge and earned his Master's degree in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. He wrote the screenplay for the film "The Devil You Know" (2013), starring Rosamund Pike, and co-wrote the screenplay for "The Con is On" (2018), featuring Uma Thurman, Tim Roth, Parker Posey, and Sofia Vergara. His debut novel, "The Silent Patient," reached #1 on the New York Times bestseller list and has sold over 7.5 million copies worldwide. His second novel, "The Maidens," was also featured on the bestseller lists of the New York Times and the Sunday Times.
