Konstantinos Grigoriou

Konstantinos Grigoriou was born and raised in Athens. He studied music at the National Conservatory of Athens. He holds a degree in guitar and advanced theoretical studies (Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue) under the guidance of Giorgos Minas, and a Diploma in Composition (1st Prize and "Manolis Kalomoiris" Monetary Award) in the class of composer and Artistic Director of the National Conservatory, Pericles Koukos. Since September 2003, he has been the Director of the National Conservatory of Thira, where he teaches guitar, compulsory courses, and advanced theoretical studies. His works have been presented in Russia, Austria, Italy, America, and, of course, Greece [Athens Concert Hall, "Parnassos" Literary Society, Museum of History of the University of Athens, Studio C of ERT, Hellenic American Union, and Hellenic American College, among others]. In 2009, he was invited to the 9th International Festival of Contemporary Music "Europe-Asia" held in Kazan, Russia, where he participated with his solo piano piece "In the Sea." He has collaborated with significant orchestras such as the Athens State Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens, the Patras Orchestra, among others. Additionally, he has worked with chamber music ensembles like the Brass Quintet of the Athens State Orchestra, the Greek Ensemble of Contemporary Music [conducted by Theodore Antoniou], the L'Anima Quartet, the +KINISIS Quartet, the "Aeolos" Wind Quintet, the Trio In Vivo, and others. His works have been repeatedly broadcast by the Third Program of the Hellenic Radio (ERA) and are available on CD from the record label Irida Classical. He has served as a member of the jury in international competitions for piano, violin, cello, flute, clarinet, and as a member of the jury in national choir competitions.
