Zyranna Zateli

Zyranna Zateli was born in 1951 in Socho, Thessaloniki. She studied theater and worked as an actress, as well as in radio, but she abandoned these pursuits fairly quickly—her true calling was and remains writing, and she now dedicates herself exclusively to it. She has published the following books so far: - "Last Year's Fiancée," a collection of nine short stories, Sigareta Publishing 1984; Kastaniotis, 1994 - "With Grace in the Wilderness," a collection of thirty-one short stories, Sigareta Publishing 1986; Kastaniotis, 1994 - "And with the Light of the Wolf They Return," a novel in ten stories, Kastaniotis, 1993 - "Death Came Last," a novel, Kastaniotis, 2001, the first book of the trilogy "With the Strange Name Ramantha Erebus." - "Passion Thousands of Times," a novel, Kastaniotis, 2009, the second book of the trilogy "With the Strange Name Ramantha Erebus." In 2010, she was honored with the Petros Haris Foundation Novel Award from the Academy of Athens for her body of work. Her novel "And with the Light of the Wolf They Return" has been translated into German, Dutch, Lithuanian, Italian, and French. Her short stories have been translated and published in anthologies and literary magazines in English, French, German, and Italian.
