Alexandros K. Katranis
Alexandros Katranis was born in 1953 in Athens. He studied law at the Universities of Athens and Munich and obtained a Doctorate in Law from the University of Munich. He worked as a research associate at the Universities of Munich and Cologne. From 1988 to 1997, he taught International Law, European Law, and International Economic Law at the Department of International and European Studies at Panteion University, initially as a Lecturer and later as an Assistant Professor. In these fields, he has published two monographs and a series of articles and academic papers. He is an honorary doctor of the Diplomatic Academy (University) of Georgia. In 1983, he joined the Diplomatic Corps of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served in various positions in both the Central and External Services. He is a graduate of the NATO Defense College and has attended various training programs in his field. He has taught and lectured at the School of Public Administration and the Institute of Continuing Education of the National Center for Public Administration, at the Naval and Air Force War Colleges, and at the Police Academy. He has also been invited to give lectures on European and international issues at universities and research institutions abroad (Germany, Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Democratic Republic of the Congo). He is currently the Ambassador of Greece in Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo).
