Delia Owens

Delia Owens (1949) is an American zoologist and author. For 23 years, she lived in some of the most remote areas of Africa, studying lions, elephants, and other animals. Along with her former husband, she has written three books about African wildlife, which have become international successes. She has been awarded the John Burroughs Award for Nature Writing, and her articles and studies have been published in journals such as Nature, the African Journal of Ecology, and International Wildlife. "Where the Crawdads Sing" is her first work of fiction.
