Vladimir Pistalo

Vladimir Pištalo is one of the most prominent authors in contemporary Serbia. He was born in 1960 in Sarajevo. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Belgrade and later earned his Ph.D. from the University of New Hampshire in the USA. Currently, he works as a professor at Becker College in Massachusetts, where he teaches courses in American and world history. He published his first short story at the age of 18 and has since released over eleven titles, including fiction and narratives. Among these are a book about the life of Alexander the Great of Macedonia (Aleksandrida, 1999) and the novel Millennium in Belgrade (2000). His masterpiece "Tesla: A Portrait with Masks" achieved unprecedented success and has been translated into more than ten languages. In 2008, he received the NIN Award, Serbia's highest literary honor, and was also recognized by the National Library of the country. Excerpts from his works are included in elementary and high school textbooks.
