Jenny (Eugenia) Siouti was born in Athens in 1959. She hails from Kerasochori, Thesprotia, and is the child of immigrants. She lived in Germany until the age of twelve. A graduate of the Department of German Philology at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens, she is an active educator in Secondary Education with experience in youth theater. She has created and presented over thirty theatrical performances with her students, for which she has written the scripts herself. She conceived, designed, wrote the scripts, and co-created with her students and director Giorgos Bakalis the short film "Supplicants of Yesterday, Supplicants of Today," which was distinguished at the 2nd EUFORIA student documentary festival of the Thessaloniki Festival with the "Artistic Achievement" award. It was also selected as a finalist at the SESIFF (Seoul International Extreme-Short Image & Film Festival) and was screened twice at the European Parliament in Brussels as part of cultural activities on the refugee issue. She writes poetry and song lyrics. "Mourgana" is her first published literary work.
