Natalia Apostolopoulou was born in Avramou, Messinia, to farmer parents. She studied to become a teacher. During the Occupation, she actively participated in the EAM National Resistance; for her actions, she was exiled along with her children to the camps of American rule: Chios, Trikeri, Makronisos, and again Trikeri. For the past decade, she has been a resident of Argyroupoli, where she lives with her family and engages in writing. Natalia is a member of the Society of Greek Writers, and her first book was "I Do Not Submit... I Do Not Register!" (1979), followed by: "In the Millstones of VIOLENCE," "Generation of Bravery," "Fist in the Dark," "Not Law-Abiding," "Myrrh and Libations," "After Varkiza the Tragedy..." and, of course, "Proud and Unsubdued."
