Ilias Fragakis
Ilias Fragkakis was born in Athens in 1963. He studied a bit of physics, quite a lot of sociology, plenty of political science, and immersed himself in music and directing. He has lived briefly in a few countries and traveled extensively in many. He directs a little cinema, a little television, and a lot of theater, having received awards both in Greece and abroad (as most do, after all). He has taught acting, directing, screenwriting, and the aesthetics of imagery, and has served as the artistic director of the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Rhodes and the Municipal Theatre of Keratsini. He founded and directed the Night School and the Theatre Choros. He writes poetry, novels, plays, screenplays, and songs. Although he has been involved with poetry from a very young age, "Letters to a Woman" is his first published poetry collection. More are on the way, as once he gains momentum, nothing can stop him. He translates cultural theory texts and primarily theatrical works and poetry from ancient Greek, French, English, Bulgarian, and a bit of Spanish, because—besides being a good writer—he is also multilingual. Additionally, he is known for his humor, modesty, and kind heart.
