Roberto "El Negro" Fontanarrosa was born in 1944 and lived in Rosario, Argentina, a city he never renounced. He is one of the most renowned cartoonists and comic creators in a country with a vast tradition in the field (Mordillo, Quino, Caloi). El Negro also became extremely beloved due to his literary work, which includes three novels and approximately three hundred short stories, among them several football-themed ones that essentially capture the Argentine passion for the sport, as well as the author's devotion to one of the two eternal rivals of his city, Rosario Central. In addition to the love of the public, he received numerous awards and honors, both during his lifetime and posthumously, after his untimely death at the age of just 63.
