Daniel M. Davis

Daniel M. Davis is a Professor of Immunology at the University of Manchester and the Research Director of the Manchester Collaborative Centre for Inflammation Research (MCCIR) at the same university. He holds a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and first engaged with the human immune system as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University. A member of the UK Academy of Medical Sciences since 2011, he has published over 130 scientific papers, including articles in journals such as Nature, Science, and Scientific American. His first book, "The Compatibility Gene: How Our Bodies Fight Disease, Attract Others, and Define Our Selves" (2013), was shortlisted for awards by the Royal Society and the Society of Biology in the UK.
