Ismini Kapantai

Ismini V. Kapantai was born in 1939 in Athens. She married Vassos Kapantai and has a son, the author Doukas Kapantai. Her works include: "Seven Times the Ring," Estia (1st ed. 1989, 7th 1997), "Apeirotan and Turks," Estia (1st ed. 1990, 8th 1999), awarded the Ouranis Prize by the Academy of Athens in 1992, "The Story of Ioli," Estia (1st ed. 1996, 4th 1997), "No Time Left," Estia (1st ed. 1996, 4th 1997), "At the Secret School" (children's book), Potamos 1997, "Ionia (The Greeks in Asia Minor)," Adam 1997, "Floria of the Waters," Kastaniotis (1st ed. 1999, 6th 2000), "The Salt of the Earth," Kastaniotis 2002, "We Have Each Other," Kastaniotis 2007, "Cynical History," Kastaniotis 2008, among others. Her works translated abroad include: "Seven Times the Ring," McGill University Press, Montreal 1994, "Apeirotan and Turks," Orfelin, Belgrade 1995. Her short stories have been published in newspapers and magazines, and she has also written scripts for television documentaries. She was honored with the Christian Literature Award (1990) and the Ouranis Prize by the Academy of Athens (1992) for her novel "Apeirotan and Turks."
