Miltos Fragopoulos

Miltos Fragkopoulos was born in 1951 in Athens and studied philosophy and art history in England. He is currently a member of the management team at Vakalo School and an Art History Fellow at the University of Derby. He has published the novels "Port Bou" (1996) and "The Stone" (1986), the chronicle titled "To Endure and Withstand" (1993), as well as numerous translations from English and French. His essays on Greek and foreign literature have been published in magazines and newspapers. He was a regular contributor to the magazine 'Translation' and has published a collection of essays on literary translation titled "The Translator's Workshop" (2004 - nominated for the State Essay Award). Among others, he has translated "Gulliver's Travels" by Swift, "Waiting for the Barbarians" by Coetzee, "Visions of the Daughters of Albion" by Blake, "Herzog" by Bellow, "Zaum" by Khlebnikov, and Voltaire's "Poem on the Lisbon Disaster." He has also published the book "Introduction to the History and Theory of Graphic Design," as well as writings on art, design, and semiotics in magazines and collective volumes in Greece and abroad.
