Ragnar Jónasson

Ragnar Jónasson was born in 1976 in Reykjavik, where he lives and works. He is a lawyer and teaches Intellectual Property Law at the University of Iceland. Today, he is considered the rising star of Scandinavian noir. His books are available in forty countries worldwide and have sold over one and a half million copies. At the age of 17, he began translating Agatha Christie's works into his native language. He made his debut in crime fiction in 2009 with "Fölsk Nóta" (False Note). The novel "Snjóblinda" (2010) is the first part of the "Dark Iceland" series, featuring the main character Ari Thór Arason. In 2015, with his novel "Dimma" (The Darkness), the author launched the gripping new series "Hidden Iceland," starring Inspector Hulda Hermannsdóttir. This particular book was included by the British Times in the list of the hundred best crime novels of the post-war period.
