Maggie Nelson

Maggie Nelson was born in 1973 in San Francisco. She is a novelist, poet, and essayist, and her work revolves around issues of gender, violence, and sexual identity. She lives in Los Angeles. Her most notable works include: "The Red Parts: A Memoir" (2007), "Bluets" (2009), "The Art of Cruelty: A Reckoning" (2011), as well as the poetry books "Holes" (2007) and "Jane: A Murder" (2005). "The Argonauts" (2015), a deeply personal book that masterfully combines essayistic reflection with autobiography, feminist and queer theory with sexuality, motherhood, and family, became a bestseller in the USA and has been translated into over twenty languages.
