Veterinarian from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a Ph.D. in Food Science from Loughborough University of Technology, U.K. He worked as a veterinary officer for the Hellenic Police, from where he was seconded to the Hellenic Food Authority (EFET). He played a significant role in both the training of employees in mass catering and the inspection of mass catering units during the Athens Olympic Games in 2004. In 2005, he founded the private company "2E," focusing on the implementation, training, and publications related to food safety management systems and legislation. He served as a Professor at various levels at the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Athens. He was an instructor at EFET inspector seminars, international WHO HACCP seminars, a scientific collaborator at the National School of Public Health, and a visiting Professor in the postgraduate programs (M.Sc.) of the Medical School of Thessaly and TEI of Athens. He served as the President of the Council of TEI Thessaly from 2016 to 2018. He has participated in national and European educational programs on quality control and food technology. Several of his studies and papers have been published in international scientific journals and conference proceedings in Greece and abroad. He authored the book "Quality Control of Fishery Products – Laboratories" in 1990.
