
Anne Rice
Anne Rice was born in 1941 in New Orleans, USA. She has written dozens of novels with over 100 million copies sold worldwide, but she is best known for her series of novels collectively known as "The Vampire Chronicles." She began writing the first book in the series, titled "Interview with the Vampire," after the death of her daughter from leukemia. In 1994, the famous director Neil Jordan adapted the book into a major motion picture, featuring Brad Pitt in the lead role and Tom Cruise as Lestat, a film that achieved massive success worldwide. The third book in the "Vampire Chronicles" series, titled "Queen of the Damned," inspired another film adaptation, while "Lestat" was also adapted into a musical that enjoyed great success on Broadway.
