Eystathios E. Pelagidis

Efstathios (Stathis) E. Pelagidis is an emeritus professor at the University of Western Macedonia. His research focuses on issues related to the Asia Minor and refugee Hellenism, drawing data from sources such as the British Archives, the Archives of the League of Nations in Geneva, and the Historical Archives of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Some of his independent historical works include: "The Crypto-Christian Issue in Pontus," "Refugee Greece (1913-1930): Pain and Glory," "The Resettlement of Refugees in Western Macedonia (1923-1930)," "From Aeolis to Pamphylia: Living and Monumental Hellenism," "Saint George Peristereota: 1200 Years," "Heroic Pontus," "The Macedonian Struggle in the Regions of Kastoria and Florina," "The Code of the Metropolis of Kastoria, 1665-1769," among others. Additionally, he has numerous scientific publications in academic journals. He also systematically researches the current refugee issue concerning our brethren from the former Soviet Union. He is one of the few historians who study this paramount national issue scientifically. For this topic, he has organized a special course program at the university.
