Konstantinos Fotiadis was born in Ano Zervochori, Naoussa, in 1948, to refugee parents. In the academic year 1966-1967, he attended the School of Philosophy at the University of Thessaloniki on a scholarship. He studied history for a total of ten semesters at the University of Tübingen, as well as Empirical Cultural Studies - empirical and contemporary folklore - for eight semesters under the distinguished professor and founder of the department, Mr. H. Bausinger, and political sciences for one semester. In December 1989, he was elected as a lecturer in the history of Hellenism in the East from the 15th century onwards at the School of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.). In 1993, he was elected as an associate professor of Modern Greek History at the Pedagogical Department of Florina at A.U.Th. Finally, in 1997, he was elected as a professor of Modern Greek History at A.U.Th. He served as the dean of the Pedagogical School of Florina, a member of the organizing committee of the First World Council of Hellenes Abroad, the Center for Pontic Studies, the Committee for Pontic Studies, the Scientific Committee of the Center for the Study and Development of Greek Culture of the Black Sea, and the Scientific Committee of the "Iason" program of A.U.Th. for the promotion of the Greek language and culture in the countries of the former Soviet Union.
