Antonis M. Koltsidas

Antonis Mich. Koltsidas was born in 1947 in Palaio Skilitsi, Veria. He studied Medieval and Modern Greek Philology and History at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has been a professor of philology in Public Education since 1972. In 1994, he earned his first doctoral degree from the School of Education at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and was awarded the title of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences with distinction in Modern History. In 2001, he received his second doctoral degree from the School of Theology at the same university and was awarded the title of Doctor of Theology with distinction, specializing in Pedagogy - History of Education. He has conducted numerous linguistic and folklore studies and recordings in the broader northern Greek and neighboring Balkan regions, as well as historical research in archival units both domestically and internationally. He has participated in national and international conferences and symposia. For the past decade, he has been teaching as an appointed scientific-professor at Greek and foreign university seminars, institutions, and institutes. He holds doctorates in History and the History of Education, and is a philologist, historian, and scholar of modern Macedonian History. He is a specialized researcher of the Vlach-speaking Hellenism and focuses on the historical depiction of cities and places in the northern Greek and northern ethnological Greek regions. His interests extend to the psychosociology of adolescent education, pedagogy, linguistics, lexicography, journalism, criticism, philology in general, and literature. He is the publisher of the scientific journal "Anazitiseis," a regular member of scientific associations and societies, encyclopedias, and the daily press. He also edits and presents television programs and shows on historical and philological topics.
