Elena Artzanidou

Elena Artzanidou was born in 1964 in Waldsassen, West Germany. At the age of nine, her stay in Greece was finalized in Mavroneri, Kilkis, and later in Thessaloniki, where she graduated from the American Farm School in 1981. She holds a degree from the Karditsa School of Early Childhood Education as well as from the Department of Early Childhood Education at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Today, she lives and works as an educator in Thessaloniki and has also been involved in writing chronicles and cultural articles for the newspaper "Thessaloniki - Macedonia." She teaches children's literature ("Creating from Scratch") at the Ianos Book Workshops. Since 1996, she has been writing children's books. Her books "A Pair of Red Sneakers" and "Red Golden Shoes" were adapted by the Aristotle College of Thessaloniki and presented at the Thessaloniki Garden Theater in 2004. Her book "My Name is Promise" was included in "The White Ravens" catalog for 2007. She is the creator of the award-winning blog by the Circle of the Greek Children's Book: www.filanagnosiaprogram.blogspot.com.
