Stelios Ramfos

Stelios Ramfos was born in Athens in 1939. He is a philosopher, academic, and essayist. He studied Law in Athens and, from 1965, Philosophy in Paris, where he also taught at the University of Vincennes (1969-1974). He returned to Greece permanently in 1974. His extensive bibliography reflects his intellectual pursuits, positions, and proposals regarding Marxism, the universality of Greek culture, and the correlations between contemporary intellectual creation and the Greek Orthodox tradition. His body of work includes a wealth of articles referencing these fields of knowledge, published in magazines such as "Efthini," "Erurem," and "Indiktos." In Athens, he has previously taught at the Goulandris-Horn Foundation, among others, and currently teaches at the Basil and Marina Theocharakis Foundation.
