Gianni Rodari

Gianni Rodari was born in Piedmont in 1920 and passed away in Rome in 1980. He worked for several years as a teacher but primarily engaged in journalism, serving as an editor for newspapers and magazines. In 1944, he joined the Italian Communist Party. However, he is best known both in his country and internationally as a children's book author. His works have been translated worldwide (many are also available in Greek) and have been read by millions of children. In 1970, he was awarded the Andersen Prize, the highest international recognition for a children's literature author.
