
Jerome K. Jerome
An English novelist and playwright renowned for his innate, incisive humor. He was born in 1859 in Stafford. Throughout his life, he worked intermittently as a railway clerk, schoolmaster, actor, and journalist. Among his works are "Idle Thoughts of an Idle Fellow" (1889) and "Three Men in a Boat" (1889), which were translated into many languages and achieved great success. He also wrote "Barbara" (1886), "Miss Hobbs" (1899), "The Great Gable" (1914), among others. He passed away in 1927 in Northampton.
