John Milton

Milton, one of the most significant English literary figures, was born in London on December 9, 1608. Despite losing his sight at a young age, he was characterized by a great aptitude for learning foreign languages and studying Greek and Latin classics. He attempted to write his first verses while still a student at St. Paul's School. He attended Christ’s College at the University of Cambridge. His most important works include "Paradise Lost," "Lycidas," "Paradise Regained," and "Samson Agonistes." He also engaged in composing songs. He passed away on November 8, 1674.
