Alfred Adler
Alfred Adler (1870-1937) was an Austrian psychotherapist and the founder of the school of Individual Psychology. He was initially a close collaborator of Freud, but disagreed with Freud's emphasis on sexuality. His own theory focuses on the individual's effort to overcome feelings of inferiority experienced since childhood. His ideas, such as "social interest" and "lifestyle," have profoundly influenced modern psychology and education.
