
Mimis Androulakis
Mimis Androulakis was born in Agios Nikolaos, Crete, in November 1951. He studied at the National Technical University of Athens. He participated in the anti-dictatorial resistance and was persecuted by the junta. He was a member of the Coordinating Committee of the Polytechnic uprising in November 1973. A leading figure of the Left for over twenty years, he became politically unaffiliated in 1993, distancing himself from the daily management of politics. He withdrew from the political scene after proposing the reformation of the Left and the broader Center-Left with his book "After" (1992). He returned to active politics in 2004 and was elected as a PASOK Member of Parliament for the Second District of Athens. He has worked in economic analysis and forecasting in the private sector. He is a member of the Journalists' Union of the Athens Daily Newspapers (ESIEA). He created radio programs for Flash 96.0 on two occasions, as well as for Alpha 98.9 and Vima FM 99.5. He has written plays and other narratives for radio, as well as historical tributes to major movements in global music. He has contributed to various collective works and published a series of social and political studies.
