Sotiris Rizas
Sotiris Rizas was born in Athens in 1964. He has been a research director since 2005 and has led the Research Center for the History of Modern Hellenism at the Academy of Athens since 2016. He earned his Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science and International Studies at Panteion University in 1992. Rizas has taught at the National School of Public Administration, the Hellenic Open University, and the postgraduate program in Modern and Contemporary History at the Department of History, Archaeology, and Cultural Heritage Management at the University of the Peloponnese. He was a Visiting Research Associate at the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies at King’s College London (1994-1995), a Stanley J. Seeger Visiting Fellow in Research at the Program in Hellenic Studies at Princeton University (2004-2005), a Special Postgraduate Fellow at the Department of Communication, Media, and Culture at Panteion University (1991-1992), and a Member of the Scientific Educational Council of the National Center for Public Administration (2008-2011).
