Giorgos Antoniou

George Antoniou holds a Ph.D. in History and Cultural Studies from the European University Institute in Florence (2007). He is an academic assistant at the School of Humanities at the International Hellenic University and teaches European history at the Hellenic Open University. He has also taught at the University of Cyprus and Yale University. He served as a postdoctoral researcher for two years at the Foundation for the Memory of the Shoah in Paris. His expertise lies in post-war history and the legacy of the past in the present. He has edited and published studies on the Holocaust in the Balkans ("The Holocaust in the Balkans," "Epikentro," 2011) and on scholarly production in Greece during the Cold War ("The Age of Confusion: The 1940s and Historiography," "Estia," 2008). He has published articles in international and Greek journals such as "History and Theory," "Journal of Peace Research," "Memoria e Ricerca," "Science and Society," and has organized international academic conferences.
