Anna Vidali

Anna Vidali was born in Thessaloniki in 1942. She studied to become a kindergarten teacher at the Thessaloniki School of Nursery Education and subsequently worked in public kindergartens in the Kilkis region. In the 1980s, she pursued postgraduate studies in London, specializing in the Sociology of Education. She submitted her thesis at the University of London under the supervision of Valerie Walkerdine, who helped her explore feminist thought and psychoanalytic theory. Later, she completed her postgraduate studies at Brunel University with Parveen Adams. Her academic interest focuses on approaching biographical texts primarily from a psychoanalytic perspective. She has particularly engaged with "life narratives" and their relationship to the traumatic events of the Greek Civil War. Anna Vidali has taught at the Department of Early Childhood Education at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is a member of the faculty at the Department of Early Childhood Education at the University of Thessaly.
