Nikos A. Matsoukas

Nikos Matsoukas was born in Xanthi in 1934. He studied theology and philosophy at the Universities of Thessaloniki and Heidelberg. For 42 years, he served at Aristotle University, most of that time as a professor of Dogmatics and the History of Philosophy at the same university's School of Theology. He authored extensive works, monographs, and articles on theological and philosophical subjects. His books and studies have been translated into foreign languages. He is also involved in literature, mainly traditional literature, and has occasionally contributed to the magazines "Diagonal" and "Thracian Chronicles." His prose works have been highly successful, including "Bittersweet Roots," "Zealots of the City of Thessaloniki (1342-1349)," "Europe in Labor," and "The Dim Mirror" (prose - poems). He translated works by Kafka, Hesse, Pascal, Berdyaev, Evdokimov, Reich, and Staniloae into Greek.
