Manos Eleytheriou

Manos Eleftheriou was born in Ermoupoli, Syros, in 1938. He published novels, poetry collections, volumes of prose, albums, and four volumes on "Theater in Ermoupoli in the 20th Century, 1901-1921," as well as the anthology "Ermoupoli: A City in Literature" (Metaichmio, 2004). He was awarded the State Novel Prize in 2005 for his novel "The Time of Chrysanthemums" (Metaichmio, 2004). He was also involved in music, having written lyrics for approximately 400 songs and collaborated with almost all Greek composers. In 2013, he received the Kostas and Eleni Ourani Foundation Poetry Prize for his entire body of work. He passed away on July 22, 2018, at the age of 80.
