Vasiliki CHasandra

Vicky Chasandra was born in Chalkida. She holds a degree in French Language and Literature from the School of Philosophy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has been a professional screenwriter since 1998, having written scripts for feature films ("The Third Night," "Strangers in a Foreign Land," etc.), TV movies, and television series. A graduate of the Centre de Traduction Littéraire (Literary Translation Center, IFA), she has translated works of both classic and contemporary French authors (Mme de Sevigne, Anatole France, Alfred de Musset, etc.) into Greek. Since 2006, she has been teaching screenwriting at New York College in the Film Studies department, and she is also an associate of the University of Greenwich in London. A member of the Greek Screenwriters Guild, she is also a founding member of the Hellenic Film Academy. Her first novel, "Invisible Voices" (Topos 2015), was among the top ten in the Public 2016 awards, according to public preference. "Sand at the Bottom" is her second novel.
