Ilias Mamalakis

Ilias Mamalakis was born in Athens. He studied economics and worked for many years as a senior executive in multinational companies. After gaining considerable experience, he turned to gastronomy in his forties. He has written twelve books (including a novel), primarily focusing on cooking and well-being, and has released three CDs featuring recipes and stories. In April 2007, he became the editorial director of the Greek edition of BBC Olive. He was also the editorial director of the cooking supplement titled "Delicacies" in the "Investor's World." He contributes to the gastronomic pages of "Elle" magazine. For three years, he was the main host of the show "Full Speed in the Kitchen" on Mega Channel. He was the editor-in-chief and host of the show "A Bite & A Forgiveness" aired on Mega Channel. On the ET3 channel, he presented a series of documentaries about the history of Greece. The first season covered the pre-revolutionary period and the life of Katsantonis, while the second season focused on the life of Theodoros Kolokotronis. He participated in the theatrical production "The Delicious" at the Train at Rouf, directed by Tatiana Lygari. He has designed a series of six different chocolates for Fresh patisseries, including one with green tea and another with salt. He continues to serve as a consultant in the food industry on flavor issues. He is a founding member of Stavros Theodorakis's site Protagon.gr, where he writes on topics unrelated to cooking. He conducts seminars on Greek cheese, ancient Greek cuisine, the Mediterranean diet, and more. He hosts radio shows on Oasis (88 FM) and Difono (96.6 FM). He also participates as a judge in the Greek Top Chef competition on Antenna.
