
Mariza Ntekastro
Mariza Dekastro was born in 1953 in Athens. From 1973 to 1982, she lived in Paris, where she studied pedagogy and children's and young adult literature at the Sorbonne. Upon returning to Greece, she began teaching history and literature from a unique perspective to elementary school children in private education. Mariza Dekastro has written children's books on history and art topics, contributed archaeological content to the children's pages of the magazine "Archaeology," and authored numerous articles. She has also translated children's novels and fairy tales. Since 1998, she has been writing children's and young adult book reviews for the newspapers "To Vima" and "Ta Nea." She has collaborated with the National Book Centre of Greece on the Reading Promotion program and visited many schools across Greece. In 2006, she was awarded the State Knowledge Book Award for the book she co-authored with P. Valavanis, "Small Stories of the Museum," and in 2012, she was honored by the Circle of the Greek Children's Book for her book "Walking Through the Seasons of Byzantium," published by Metaichmio in 2011
