Despoina I. Papadimitriou

Despina I. Papadimitriou holds a Ph.D. in History from the School of Philosophy at the University of Athens and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and History at Panteion University. Her areas of expertise include modern Greek and European history, the analysis of ideologies with a focus on political conservatism, nationalism, anti-communism, national-mindedness, the far right, the history of concepts, and the history of the press. She has published works on political conservatism, the far right, anti-totalitarianism, and fascism. Her monographs include: "From the People of the Law-Abiding to the Nation of the National-Minded: Conservative Thought in Greece 1922-1967" (Athens: Savvalas Publications, 2006), "The Years of Crisis in the Interwar Period: The Greek Public Debate" (Athens: Asini Publications, 2012). In collaboration with N. Balta: "Notes on the History of the Press: The Greek and European Dimension" (Athens: Odysseas Publications, 1993), and in collaboration with V. Karapostolis, N. Demertzis, A. Armenakis: "Greeks Abroad: Cultural Identity and Diaspora Media" (Athens: Ministry of Press, General Secretariat of Information, 2001).
