Giorgos Kechagioglou

Giorgos Kehagioglou was born in Thessaloniki in 1947 and studied in Thessaloniki (1965-1969) and Paris (1977-1979). Since 1975, he has been teaching Modern Greek Philology at the University of Thessaloniki, where he has been a full professor since 1989. He engages with various topics in Modern Greek literature and philology from its beginnings (12th century) to the present, as well as issues of comparative philology. He has a particular interest in the study and critical evaluation of modern Cypriot literature and writing.
