Mairi Metaxa - Paxinou

Mary Metaxa-Paxinou is a philologist, author, astrology researcher, and visual artist. She was born and raised in Ethiopia. She studied Sociology at L.T.C. Sussex in England, Philosophy at the School of Philosophy in Athens where she also attended Theatre Studies courses, and Graphic Arts at AKTO School. She taught for ten years in both private and public education sectors. She has written and presented topics on Mythology through Theatre and Movement in Greece and abroad. Her short story "Ariadne" was awarded the Kaiti Stathopoulou Prize in 1998 and was presented by her on the second radio program, with music by Dimitris Alimisis. The libretto "Trinolino and Valtamora" was awarded by the Literary Society in 2001. It was theatrically presented on July 30, 2012, in Kefalonia, directed by Sofia Delaporta, with set design by Kleio Boboti and music by Daphne Alexandri. As a visual artist, she signs her work as Mary Metaxa. Her works have been exhibited in seven solo and five group exhibitions.
