Vasiliki Kontogianni

Vasiliki Kontogianni was born in Athens in 1953, where she also grew up. She studied philology at the University of Athens. Later, to pursue advanced studies in Modern Greek philology, she lived for several years in Paris. There, she began working in education, teaching language, literature, and culture at the Modern Greek Institute of the Sorbonne University. Since 1993, she has been working at the Democritus University of Thrace and resides in Alexandroupoli. She is a professor of Modern Greek Literature in the Department of Greek Philology at D.U.Th. She has published philological studies, a few translations, and an adaptation of an African myth. The poetry collection "Cycles" is her first book of poetry.
