Sofia Paraschou - CHatzidimitriou

Sophia Paraschou - Chatzidimitriou was born and spent her childhood in Karpathos. She studied history and archaeology at the University of Athens and worked as a philologist in secondary education. With a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), she pursued postgraduate studies. She obtained a diploma specializing in "Language Teaching-Literature" and subsequently completed a doctoral dissertation in children's literature. From 2003 to 2013, she worked as a school advisor for philologists in Piraeus. She also taught Children's Literature at the Department of Primary Education at the University of Thessaly. She has published 30 literary books for children, young adults, and adults and was part of the writing team that authored the New Literature Anthologies for the 1st and 2nd grades of junior high school in 2006. Her book "Even the Bad Have a Soul," published by Psichogios Publications, has been translated into German and was shortlisted for the State Awards in 2004. Her poetry collection "Little Fireflies" was honored with an award from the Women's Literary Society, and her novel "The Child of the Heart" received a commendation from the Greek Children's Book Circle. She has also been awarded the KEVP Award "For the Greek Secondary Education Teacher" and has published the short story collection for adults "Scar in Memory." She is the proud mother of Irina, Giannis, and Marina.
