
Petros CHartokollis
Petros Chartokollis was born in Athens, where he spent his childhood and teenage years before emigrating to America after the war. He studied medicine, clinical psychology, psychiatry, and psychoanalysis. He served as the director of the Menninger Psychiatric Clinic and, upon returning to Greece, took up the Chair of Psychiatry at the University of Patras, where he continues to teach as an emeritus professor. He is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychoanalytic Association, the International Psychoanalytical Association, and the Hellenic Psychoanalytical Society, which he co-founded and presided over for fifteen years. He has published psychiatric and psychoanalytic articles, chapters in scientific books, and eleven books spanning psychiatry, philology, and literature.
