Maria Kentrou - Agathopoulou

Maria Kentrou-Agathopoulou was born in 1930 in Thessaloniki, where she continues to reside, to parents of Asia Minor descent. She completed her general education in the same city. She made her literary debut as a poet in 1961 with the poetry collection "Soul and Art." Since then, she has published twelve more collections, with the latest being "Salkim." She is a member of the Thessaloniki Society of Writers and collaborates with various literary magazines. In addition to poetry, she publishes critical essays in magazines, primarily focusing on poetic works. Alongside poetry, she also writes and publishes short stories. Her poems have been translated into English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Romanian, Spanish, and Serbian.
