Panagiotis Mentis
Panagiotis Mentis was born in Piraeus in 1953. He studied theater at the Pelos Katselis Drama School and has been working as an actor in theater since 1976. As an actor, he collaborated with theater companies such as Aliki Vougiouklaki, Thymios Karakatsanis, "Proskinio" by Alexis Solomos, Piraeus-Exarchia Theater, Alekos Alexandrakis-Nonika Galinea, the State Theater of Northern Greece, the National Theater, Stoa Theater, and the Municipal and Regional Theaters of Serres, Komotini, and Corfu. As a playwright, he has been awarded twice with a state prize by the Ministry of Culture for his plays: "Playmobil" in 1989 and "Anna, I Said!" in 1994. In 1997, he received an honorary distinction from the Onassis Foundation in its first International Cultural Competition for Playwriting for his play "Save." In 2001, during the second International Cultural Competition of the Onassis Foundation, he was honored with the third international prize for his play "Strangers," which was presented by the New Stage of the National Theater.
