Giorgos Lakopoulos

Journalist Giorgos Lakopoulos was born in 1956 in Theodoriana, Arta, and has been living in Athens since 1979. He is currently the chief editor of political reporting at the newspaper "To Vima," where he has worked since 1984. He has also worked for the newspapers "Ta Nea," "Eleftheri Gnomi," "Exormisi," the magazines "Ena" and "Tachydromos," as well as for ERT, Mega, and the radio station Flash. At various times, he served as a press advisor at the Ministries of Culture, Education, and Foreign Affairs. He currently works at the newspaper "Ta Nea." He is a member of the Journalists' Union of the Athens Daily Newspapers (ESIEA). In 1999, he published the political narrative "The Novel of PASOK," a large part of which had been previously serialized in "To Vima." In 2003, he wrote the political thriller "Who Killed the Prime Minister," and in 2006, he released the political novel "Crime at Dacapo." In 2008, he published the book "The Waves Speak to Him - Andreas Papandreou Before Entering Politics." In 2009, he was honored by the Botsis Foundation with the "Political Journalism Award: Christos Pasalaris," established by the Hellenic Parliament. He is married to Olympia Papagiannakopoulou, and they have two daughters.
