
Roberto Calasso
Roberto Calasso was born in 1941 in Florence and studied in Rome. He is currently the director of the Adelphi publishing house in Milan. He achieved worldwide success with his works "The Ruin of Kasch" (1983, translated by Maria Kasotaki, Kastaniotis Editions 1999), "The Marriage of Cadmus and Harmony" (1988), and "Ka" (1996), a kind of trilogy that deals with the myths and history of the human race. He has also published the novel "The Impure Idiot" (1974) and the essay collections "The Forty-Nine Steps" (1991) and "Literature and the Gods" (2001).
