
Dimosthenis Davvetas
Demosthenes Davvetas was born in Athens. He studied at the Law School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds a Ph.D. in Aesthetics from Paris VIII University. He teaches at IESA in Paris. He has taught Philosophy of Art at the University of Athens, the University of the Peloponnese, the University of Piraeus, Strate College, and Creapole in Paris. He has conducted seminars on the Philosophy of Art at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts (Paris), seminars on philosophy and modern art at Paris IV (Paris), and Philosophy of Applied Arts at the School of Architecture of the University of Patras. He frequently gives lectures at art schools and universities.
A poet and writer, painter and visual artist, he has been writing articles and essays since 1982 for magazines such as Art Forum, Art in America, Art Studio, Beaux Arts Magazine, Galleries Magazine, Parkett Risk, and newspapers like Liberation, Le Figaro, and Les Echos. He is a political commentator and analyst on television and in the print media. He maintains a weekly column in the newspaper Eleftheros Typos.
